NHL players not getting to take part in annual Yoga event in Toronto
The annual Yoga in Toronto is cancelled.
The players are not getting the benefit of the doubt after the city’s health board put a moratorium on the event because of concerns over its impact on the city and its citizens.
In a statement released late Wednesday, the city said the health board has now concluded that the event is no longer safe and will be held on Saturday.
“In light of this finding, the event has been moved to an alternate date of December 8, 2020,” said the statement, which was released after an extensive public hearing and public health consultations.
The city said in a release that the players will now participate in an “alternative program” of yoga, a “community service program” and a “non-traditional” yoga class.
