How a man with a tan could lose inches in just one week
A few weeks after starting a new job, a guy with a black eye lost inches in a matter of hours, according to a new study.
The study, published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, found that losing 1 inch in a week in a tanning bed would cost him $2,500, compared to losing an inch in the same amount of time with a standard tanning pad.
“The average person loses about an inch every four years, and if they’re starting a tan now, they’re going to lose an additional two to three inches,” Dr. Robert A. Wysocki, a professor of dermatology and ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh, said in a statement.
Wysockii said that his patients typically lose about one to two inches per year, depending on age, gender, and whether they are on an extended leave of absence.
The results of the study, which was based on a study of about 2,000 people, showed that people who lost an inch to a tan had a much higher risk of premature death, stroke, and cancer, according the study.
Wylinski said that the study is an important step toward developing better treatments for skin problems and that the findings are useful for dermatologists in the development of more effective products.
According to the study:People who lose an inch are likely to be younger, have lower incomes, live in older neighborhoods, and are more likely to smoke or to be obese.
